photoblog image White Crowned Sparrow

White Crowned Sparrow

I came across this juvenile white crowned sparrow on one of my daily walks with my dog.
I heard this constant chirping above me and eventually was able to locate this little bird amongst the branches of the trees. I tried to get a photo but too many branches were in the way so I gave up and strarted walking away. This sparrow then began flitting from branch to branch to settle itself just a bit ahead of me all the while almost screaming it was chirping so loud. It would only cease it's chirping when I stopped walking away.  Amazingly we spent about an hour together. My dog, wondering what the fuss was all about, was most patient.  All of the photos I took are from a distance away and I didn't have any idea of what I would be getting until Iater when I saw this amazing, beautifully expressive, almost human look in it's little face.  This photo is of one of my favorite encounters ever, and if there is a look in it's eyes that touches you somehow then the message I was to deliver has been duly delivered.

Suzanne, this is absolutely gorgeous. smile

'He' is a cute little bird and the expression is amazing, very appealing. I'm not surprised you were pleased with this shot.
Suzanne: Thank you, Ellie. The expression of this bird rather shocked me when I first saw the photograph. So human and whimsical.
very lovely shot! I had three long tailed tits on my bird table last week and missed them with the camera sad
Suzanne: Thank you very much. Taking photos of birds is a bit of challenge particularly that I would be much more successful if I had a longer lens.
Too bad about your missed opportunity last week.
That's a great shot of one vain, but very photogenic, bird smile
Quel regard!

Que voulait-il donc vous dire?

Charmant!
Suzanne: J'ai revu ce petit oiseau le lendemain de cette photo et il a continué de me suiver pour un temps. C'est vraiment une photo qui me fait sourire. Merci, Rémi.

Suzanne: She thanks you, Iris. She insisted on being photographed. I wonder how she is doing after all this time.
