White Crowned Sparrow
I came across this juvenile white crowned sparrow on one of my daily walks with my dog.
I heard this constant chirping above me and eventually was able to
locate this little bird amongst the branches of the trees. I tried to
get a photo but too many branches were in the way so I gave up and
strarted walking away. This sparrow then began flitting from branch to
branch to settle itself just a bit ahead of me all the while almost
screaming it was chirping so loud. It would only cease it's chirping
when I stopped walking away. Amazingly we spent about an hour
together. My dog, wondering what the fuss was all about, was most
patient. All of the photos I took are from a distance away and I
didn't have any idea of what I would be getting until Iater when I saw
this amazing, beautifully expressive, almost human look in it's little
face. This photo is of one of my favorite encounters ever, and if
there is a look in it's eyes that touches you somehow then the message
I was to deliver has been duly delivered.
