A Whisper in a Quiet Place

From a simple prayer
That began as a whisper in a quiet place
A dream can inspire the world
A voice echo far away
The wind can take our thoughts
From the wasteland where we walk
Into a pure land
As heroes proudly stand
Like a rose among thorns

From a simple act
That began in the corner of an unlit place
A vision embraces the world
A million candles blaze
We rise above ourselves
With a dignity somehow
Reach that Promised Land
As heroes proudly stand
Like a rose that grows
In spite of it all
A simple rose among thorns

In every lifetime we find a heart
That lights a spark in the eyes of the weary
Who can lead me to a greater love
Show there's good in us.

It's funny, Suzanne, but this poem and pic are a perfect end to our week here in NYC. Lots to reflect on. It's not what one would call a Quiet Place but there is a river of love flowing through it after the million candles have blazed. I've been very moved.
Suzanne: Thank you Ginnie for this most beautiful comment. You just described a very beautiful image of your very own.
Oh, Suzanne, this is so typical of you, and it works perfectly at all levels- a whisper-quiet image and a beautifully matched verse.
I imagine you have shelves groaning under the weight of all these poetry books!
Suzanne: Thank you so much, David. I actually got this "poem" when I sought out the lyrics to a Dulce Pontes song. It was so beautiful that I knew I had to
use it somehow. My shelves always have room for more books of the poetry kind! smile
i can almost hear it....lovely...
Suzanne: Thank you, Sam! smile

Suzanne: You are absolutely right, Petra. She is from Portugal and I only recently discovered her music..haunting and incredibly beautiful. Thank you!

I like the sense of movement that the road brings. it flows through the still landscape like a river. Beautiful Suzanne!
Suzanne: Thank you, Paul. That is really what it looked like as it glistened in the rain.
Suzanne, thank you for taking us on the walk as your poem describes. Your photo makes me want to see what's just beyond the bend, as well as enjoy the quietness and stillness of nature. Very nice.
Suzanne: Thank you, Kay. What is beyond the bend is a bit more of the same, then the forest opens up again. This road is at the very top of the island and incredibly quiet. Beautiful.

''The land is within. At the end of the open road, we come to ourselves'' Rudolph Glanz alias Ralph Glaz alia Azed... étrange que je viens de lire ce petit poème tout juste avant d'aller sur ton blog!
Belle photo fluide qui donne envie de glisser tout au long de ce chemin.
A really good idea to manage it in B&W - Beautiful !
Suzanne: Thank you very much, Zeb. The trees are so incredibly green that they overpowered the winding road, and it is this road, all lit up as it were, that caught my attention.
